Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of terms
By installing, accessing, or using the helm browser extension ("the Software") or this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
2. License grant
The helm Project grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software for personal or internal business purposes, subject to these terms. This license does not grant you ownership of the Software or any intellectual property rights therein.
3. Intellectual property
The Software, including all source code, object code, algorithms, user interface designs, graphics, icons, documentation, and website content, is the exclusive property of The helm Project and is protected by applicable copyright, trade secret, and intellectual property laws.
All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
4. Restrictions
You may not, directly or indirectly:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, or attempt to derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, or structure of the Software
- Copy, reproduce, or duplicate the Software or any part thereof, except as required for normal installation and use
- Clone, fork, or create derivative works based on the Software, its design, functionality, or user interface
- Modify, adapt, translate, or alter the Software in any way
- Distribute, sublicense, lease, rent, loan, or transfer the Software or any rights therein to any third party
- Sell, resell, or commercially exploit the Software or any part thereof
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software
- Use the Software as a basis for building a competing product or service
- Scrape, crawl, or extract content from this website for the purpose of creating a competing product or replicating the Software's functionality
- Use automated tools to analyze, benchmark, or extract the design patterns, workflows, or command structures of the Software for replication purposes
5. Trademarks
The name "helm," the helm logo, and all associated branding are unregistered marks of The helm Project and are protected under common law. You may not use these marks in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship without prior written permission. Fair use to refer to the Software in a descriptive, non-commercial context is permitted.
6. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The helm Project does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The helm Project shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Termination
This license is effective until terminated. The helm Project may terminate this license at any time if you breach any of these terms. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.
9. Paid features
The Software is currently available without charge. The helm Project reserves the right to introduce paid features, subscription tiers, or premium versions at any time. If paid features are introduced, separate billing terms will apply, and any features that are free at the time you install the Software will remain available without charge to existing users for a reasonable transition period.
10. Updates and modifications
The helm Project reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue the Software at any time without notice. Continued use of the Software after changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
